презентация ENGLISH FOR ECONOMICS – TERMINOLOGY AND USE
This article explores the linguistic framework of English for Economics (EFE), a vital sub-discipline of English for Specific Purposes (ESP). As English remains the undisputed lingua franca of global financial and academic discourse, mastering its specialized terminology and stylistic nuances is essential for aspiring economists. This paper investigates the dual nature of economic terminology – specifically, the transition of ordinary vocabulary into highly specialized semantic domains (polysemy) and the integration of mathematical symbols into textual syntax. Furthermore, it examines the structural and rhetorical features of economic writing, such as nominalization, hedging, and conceptual metaphors. By analyzing these linguistic characteristics, this paper aims to provide student researchers with practical strategies for navigating, interpreting, and producing professional economic literature.
